Who I am

A bit of background

I started life as an Art Director working for
four of the best ad agencies in London.
Then, sometime in the mid 90s I became a writer. (Though I can still scribble a mean layout if needed.)

I’ve worked in the UK and Central Europe,
and for the Middle East and South Africa.
As a result, I have an acute understanding
of marketing communications and what
motivates the consumer.

I was a board director at JWT and chaired
the De Beers International Creative Forum,
an $80 million account worldwide.

At Lowes in Central Europe I helped introduce ‘The Communication Palace’, an initiative designed to drive creative consistency through all disciplines including advertising, design, direct marketing, corporate communication – even packaging.

As a result, the agency was propelled from 9th to 1st in terms of billing and creative reputation.

Today, and for the past 10 years, I’ve been helping to build brands by plying my craft as a Freelance Conceptual Copywriter.

Of course it’s not all work and no play: when I’m not found slaving over a laptop you might find me casting a fly on the water.
